Amit Bapna, Non Executive Director
Amit Bapna is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Reliance Capital Limited and Non Executive Director of Reliance Nippon Life Insurance Company Limited.
He has been with the Reliance Group since 1999. In his existing role, he provides financial direction, oversight and control for Reliance Capital Limited and its group companies and further provides strategic leadership for Corporate Treasury. He has over thirteen years of experience in varied business environments e.g. manufacturing and financial services. He has earlier worked in the capacity of Chief Financial Officer of Reliance Capital Asset Management Limited and Reliance Consumer Finance where he played a key role and had been a significant contributor to the exponential growth of the business bringing operational & process disciplines. Earlier still, he had worked in the Corporate Treasury of Reliance Industries Limited.
Amit is a Chartered Accountant.
Ashish Vohra, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director
Ashish Vohra is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Reliance Nippon Life Insurance Company Limited, one of the largest Life Insurance companies in India. Reliance Nippon Life is a joint venture between Reliance Capital Limited, amongst India’s most valuable Financial Services companies and Nippon Life, Japan, the largest private Insurer in Japan and a Global Fortune 500 company. He is also an Executive Director on the Board of the Company. He is responsible for providing leadership to the entire business in its journey towards achieving its vision of being a Company that customers and all stakeholders trust and grow with, by providing financial independence to every life it touches.
Ashish has over 25 years of invaluable experience in the financial services and manufacturing industries, in diverse roles across marketing, sales, product and business development.
His last assignment was at Max Life Insurance, as Senior Director and Chief Distribution Officer, where he was responsible for delivering robust growth in top-line and increase in market share through existing and new distribution models while ensuring channel profitability, high persistency and a quality book of business. Under his leadership the company consistently maintained its number 1 position amongst the non bank owned Life Insurance companies in India.
Prior to joining Max Life, Ashish was Executive Vice President and Head – Commercial Business at Fullerton India Credit Corporation. As a Founder team member at Fullerton, Ashish headed the P&L responsibility for Commercial Mass Markets and helped Fullerton to successfully capture the retail finance opportunity in India through secured, unsecured and fee based products delivered through a network of 500 branches and 8000 employees. Earlier, at Citibank N.A, he was the Business Manager for Asset Based Finance for India that helped the Bank gain a strong foothold in the SME space in India.
Ashish has served a long stint with Eicher Motors earlier.
Ashish is a Mechanical Engineer from IIT-BHU, and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM, Bangalore.
He is known for his ability to seamlessly partner with team members and achieve shared goals. He is a firm believer in the fact that deliveries happen through people and teams.
Ashok Chawla, Independent Director
Shri Ashok Chawla has been a distinguished civil servant with over 40 years of experience in various sectors of the economy in India as well as in International Multilateral agencies. He obtained his Masters in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics in 1972 and joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1973. He started his career in the State of Gujarat and held various positions, including Chief Executive of important State-Owned enterprises. Notably, he was the head of the multi-billion dollar Sardar Sarovar Narmada multi-purpose project.
In the late 1980's, he was posted as Economic Counsellor in the Indian Embassy in Washington DC, USA.
Between 1998 and 2011, he worked in several senior positions in the Federal Government at Delhi. He has been Permanent Secretary in key ministries of the Government of India such as Finance, Economic Affairs, and Civil Aviation.
He has been on the boards of the Reserve Bank of India and also the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority. He was also at different points in time India's Executive Director on the International Fund for Agricultural Development, Alternate Governor for India at the World Bank and at the Asian Development Bank.
Shri Chawla has also held leadership positions in the corporate sector. He has been Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Limited and a Director on the Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC).
In view of his rich and diversified experience, after his retirement from the civil service, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for the period 2011-2016. The CCI is a new market-economy regulator to ensure fair play by business and Industry and it gained immensely in stature during this period.

Gautam Doshi, Non Executive Director
A Chartered Accountant and Masters in Commerce, Shri. Doshi is Group Managing Director of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, a conglomerate with interest in telecom, power, infrastructure, entertainment and financial services sectors. Also served as independent director on boards of public limited companies.
Having more than 40 years of experience in wide range of areas covering Mergers and Acquisitions, Direct, Indirect and International Taxation, Transfer pricing, Accounting and Corporate and Commercial Laws. Shri. Doshi has been actively involved in conceptualizing and implementing a number of mergers and restructuring transactions both domestic and cross border, involving many of the top 20 listed companies on the BSE as also those forming part of FTSE 100.
Have addressed several seminars and conference within and outside of India and courses organized by the institute of Chartered Accountants of India, International Fiscal Association, other professional bodies and Chambers of Commerce.
Served on the Councils of Western Region as also All India level of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India which has the task of development and regulation of profession of accountancy in India. During his tenure on the Council, he served on several committees and contributed significantly to the work of Board of Studies which is responsible for education and system of training of students. He had also served as Chairman of committees on Direct and Indirect taxation.
Indira J. Parikh, Independent Director
Prof. Parikh is an M.Ed from University of Rochester, New York USA and received her Doctorate from Gujarat University. She was a faculty at IIM-Ahmedabad for over 30 years and Dean from 2002 to 2005 apart from having taught at INSEAD, Fontainebleau (France) and Texas A&M University. She has specialized in organization development and design, and institution building.
Currently, she is the President of Antardisha, a private entity creating a space for individuals and organizations to have a dialogue for self-discovery, and to reflect on past and renew themselves for the future. She is also the Founder President of FLAME, Pune where she has been involved in creating the academic vision of holistic & liberal education and in shaping the institute. She has been a consultant and has conducted diagnostic studies focusing on leadership and institution building in many public, private and multinational organizations.
Prof. Parikh has been honored with several life time achievement awards both nationally and internationally. She has written numerous articles published in national & international journals and is the co-author/author of several books.
Koji Ichiba, Non Executive Director
Koji Ichiba is a General Manager of Nippon Life’s Global Insurance Business.
Koji Ichiba has over 25 years of experience in life insurance industry since he joined in 1993. He was involved in planning and development for sales channel at regional office and zonal office at Nippon Life. From 2011 to 2015 he was Head-Representative Nippon at Reliance Nippon Life Insurance, leading the development of new distribution channel. He was also seconded to Bangkok Life Assurance in Thailand from 2001 to 2006. At Nippon Life he was taking charge of international operations including strategic investment into Prudential Financial in 2009 and other various deals outside Japan.
Currently, Koji Ichiba is responsible for driving Nippon Life’s overseas insurance businesses in Asia including India, Indonesia, Mainland China and Thailand.
He holds a degree of B.A.(Law) from Doshisha University.
Minoru Kimura, Non Executive Director
Minoru Kimura is a General Manager of Nippon Life’s International Planning & Operations Department.
Minoru Kimura has spent more than 25 years at Nippon Life since he joined in 1990. He has been responsible for both domestic and foreign securities investment, including his assignment at NLI International Inc. in New York, Nissay Deutsche Asset Management Europe and NLI Investments Europe in London.
Previously, he was General Manager of Nippon Life’s Treasury and Markets Department overseeing Nippon Life’s entire domestic fixed income investment. He has also played an active role at Nissay Asset Management, Nippon Life’s asset management subsidiary, in charge of various roles including Head of investment planning.
Minoru Kimura holds a degree of B.A.(Law) from Kyoto University.

Renu Challu, Independent Director
Ms. Challu is a Post Graduate in Economics (Gold Medalist) and is an associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. She has chaired the Hyderabad Chapter of PRMIA (Professional Risk Managers International Association) and also represented Associate Banks in the Management Committee of IBA (Indian Banks Association).
She has a vast experience of over four decades in the Banking and Financial Services Sector in Senior Management and Board positions. She has held various leadership roles such as Deputy Managing Director (Corporate Strategy and New Businesses) with SBI Mumbai, Managing Director with SBH, Managing Director & CEO with SBI DFHI, Mumbai, Chief General Manager with SBI Bhopal, President and CEO with SBI Capital Markets Ltd., Mumbai, General Manager with SBI Corporate Mumbai and also served as Vice President for SBI, New York.
In her several professional stints, Ms. Renu has contributed for remarkable business expansions and growth. She followed the development and implementation of best Strategy Formulation, Risk Management, Asset Quality Management and Financial Inclusions.
