Types of Claims:
1. Death Claims
- Ordinary Death Claims: Applicable under normal circumstances.
- Early Claims: For policies before the completion of 3 yrs after commencement of risk or date of revival which is later
- Service Guarantee Claims: For policies with a service guarantee
- Unnatural Death Claims: Involving accidents or suicides.
- Post-Maturity Death Claims: When the policyholder passes away after the policy has matured but before the benefits are paid out.
- Nominee Claims: When the policyholder has nominated a beneficiary.
2. Survival, Maturity & Annuity Claims
- Survival Benefits: Paid during the policy term.
- Maturity Benefits: Paid at the end of the policy term.
- Annuity Claims: For policies providing regular income post-retirement.
3. Living Benefits / Rider Claims
- Critical Illness Riders: For policyholders diagnosed with specified critical illnesses.
- Disability Riders: In case of permanent disability.
Steps to File a Claim
1. Claim Intimation
Initiate the claim process by informing us about the event. You can do this through:
- Online: Via our Customer Portal .
- Phone: Call our Claims Care Number at 1800-102-1010 between 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Monday to Saturday).
- Email: Send an email to rnlife.claims@relianceada.com.
- Branch Visit: Visit your nearest RNLIC branch. Use our Branch Locator to find the closest one.
2. Submission of Claim Form and Documents
After intimation, submit the following documents:
- Claim Form: Download the appropriate form from our Claims Page.
- Policy Document: Original policy bond or schedule.
- Proof of Death: Death certificate authorized by the government.
- KYC Documents: Identity and address proof of the claimant.
- Bank Details: Cancelled cheque or bank passbook for fund transfer.
- Additional Documents: Depending on the claim type, documents like FIR, post-mortem report, medical records, etc., may be required.
3. Verification of Claim
Once we receive all necessary documents, our team will:
- Verify: Ensure all information is accurate and complete.
- Assess: Evaluate the claim as per policy terms and conditions.
- Communicate: Inform you of any additional requirements or clarifications needed.
4. Claim Settlement
Upon successful verification:
- Approval: The claim is approved.
- Payment: The claim amount is credited directly to the claimant's bank account.
- Notification: You will receive an SMS and email confirming the settlement.
Claim Settlement Guarantee
We understand the importance of timely claim settlement. For death claims where four or more annual premiums have been paid, we offer a 10-day claim settlement guarantee. This means we aim to settle such claims within 10 calendar days, provided all mandatory documents are submitted and the policy is active.
Note: Claims from lapsed policies or those requiring extensive investigations may not be covered under this guarantee.
