Shri. Shom Hinduja - Non-Executive Director
Shri. Shom Hinduja, son of Ashok P. Hinduja, is passionate about making Sustainability sit right at the heart of all strategic initiatives across different business verticals of the Hinduja Group.
As President - Alternative Energy and Sustainability, he has shaped the Group's strategy in the Power sector through Hinduja Renewables by moving away from fossil fuel-based power plants.
Today, under his leadership, the company has achieved a capacity of nearly 3 GW. Hinduja Renewables is also actively exploring opportunities in Energy storage and Green Hydrogen. Shom is a member of the Boards of Ashok Leyland, Switch Mobility, Ohm Mobility (Ashok Leyland subsidiary dedicated to E-Mobility solutions in Commercial Vehicles), and Gulf Oil India.
As Chairman of Ohm Mobility, Shom has been instrumental in launching the E-MaaS (e-Mobility as a Solution) business to bring down the high cost of acquisition of commercial EVs through a pay-per-Km model. He has helped shape Gulf Oil's foray into charging infrastructure development to keep the company abreast of the green mobility trends. Before joining the offices in Mumbai, Shom, worked at KPMG, New York, as part of their M&A team. Shom is a graduate from Columbia University, New York, with a B.A. in Sustainable Development and an M.S. in Sustainability Management. Beyond work, Shom pursues many interests: he is an avid reader and loves to explore different cultures through their cuisines. He is also a certified deep-sea diver.
